Interim Rector: The Rev. Valerie Ambrose  The Rev. Valerie Ambrose will be serving as our short term interim while the Vestry undertakes a national search for a longer tenured interim rector.  Val+ is familiar to many in our parish from her having served as our Associate Rector from 2007-2010.  She has been a priest for 20 years and has specialized in serving parishes in transition; she has been interim rector with 5 congregations in our diocese and 2 parishes in Portland, Oregon.  She is currently concluding her tenure as Priest-in-Charge of St. Philip’s here in Grand Rapids, but will continue to serve on a part time basis with Grace, Holland. Her lay professional background includes serving as executive director of two regional non-profit agencies and she was also a vice president of Holland Hospital.   Val+ is married to Cathy Searls and has three grown children and two grandchildren, all of whom live out of state.   Given her familiarity with St. Andrew’s as well as her interim ministry leadership with several other Episcopal parishes, she is eager to return to our congregation as we prepare for the next chapter of our programs and ministries.  She will be serving approximately 25 hours per week to ensure our parish maintains its worship, outreach, education and pastoral care programs. Val feels very blessed to again be called to serve among our congregation.  She looks forward to resuming relationships with the many of us she already knows and becoming acquainted with those of us who have joined our parish community in recent years.
