St. Andrew’s is passionate in serving God’s people.  We show God’s love to the world thru ministering with and support the following.

Thirsting to Serve

“Helping people improve their lives through access to sustainable safe, clean water.” Loose change offerings collected at weekend services and benefit concerts have purchased hundreds of water purification units.  Parishioners have traveled to the Dominican Republic to help in the education and installation of the units.

Family Promise/Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)

IHN is a program for people who are underemployed and as a result, have lost their apartment or home.  St. Andrew’s is one of 15+ area churches that provide food and shelter for families in their effort to find affordable housing.

North End Community Ministry (NECM)

NECM ministers to those in need on the Northeast side of Grand Rapids. St. Andrew’s supports NECM’s programs by participation & financial contributions.  Ministries include:

  • Client Choice Food Pantry
  • Holiday Baskets for Thanksgiving & Christmas
  • Supper House – serves a hot meal for 80-120 families twice a week.
  • Celebrate Back to School Bash – school supplies, new shoes & clothes are distributed to children in need.

See the NECM website for more information.

North End Wellness Coalition

St. Andrew’s is participating in a new initiative that seeks to promote wellness throughout our local neighborhood along with the Creston Neighborhood Association, the North End Ministerial Association, Catherine’s Health Center, the Creston Business Association, and the Corridor Improvement District.

Congregations Organizing for Racial Reconciliation

Christian: we are dedicated to be more and more conformed to Christ, as individuals and in community.
Collaboration: we will collaborate with interested congregations and other Christian organizations, and utilize other antiracist resources.
Accountability: we are committed – as a multi-racial ministry – to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ, with special attentiveness to the voices of racial groups in church and community who are often left unheard.
Congregational focus: we will help local churches and other Christian organizations integrate their ministry of racial reconciliation with their entire life and witness.
Organizing: we will make strategic use of our spiritual and physical resources for longterm effectiveness.

 Eliminating Racism & Creating/Celebrating Equity

ERACCE exists to eliminate structural racism and create a network of equitable Antiracist institutions and communities.
